L′Oréal Paris has awarded Ora Rakestraw, Foster Grandparent, their prestigious honor of Women of Worth 2009 for her volunteer efforts. As a recipient, Department of Human Assistance’s, Foster Grandparent Program was awarded $5,000! You can help the Foster Grandparent Program receive an additional award of $25,000 by voting for Ora at the L′Oréal Women of Worth website. Voting starts November 9, 2009 and ends November 24, 2009. Senior Nutrition Services

Senior Nutrition Services provides a daily lunch meal to the elderly at congregate meal sites and the home delivered 'Meals On Wheels' program.

The mission of Senior Nutrition Services and its Meals on Wheels program is to support and maintain the independence and dignity of older persons in their homes and communities and to prevent their premature institutionalization through the provision of a nutritious noon meal five days per week.

Senior Volunteer Programs

Senior Volunteer Programs recruit, train, and place senior volunteers in placements that utilize their skills and abilities to serve others in the community.

Our goal is to provide quality services and volunteer opportunities that support the independence of seniors through a variety of programs designed to meet the multiple and varying needs of this population.
