Building Bridges to Better Futures

Program Integrity Division

Sacramento County is very concerned with insuring that benefits are given only to those who are eligible. To maintain program integrity, the Department of Human Assistance has a Program Integrity Division that is committed solely to preventing and detecting welfare fraud. Remember, welfare fraud is a crime!

The Program Integrity Division is comprised of four major functional areas:
  1. Fraud Investigations
  2. Early Fraud Detection and Prevention (EFDP)
  3. Overpayment Computation Unit (OCU)
  4. Eligibility Verifications Systems (IEVS)

How do I report welfare fraud?

If you know someone who is committing welfare fraud, the following information will be helpful to our investigators:

  1. What is the full name of the person?
  2. What is their current address?
  3. How are they committing welfare fraud?
Example: If they are working and not reporting it, please tell us where they are working, and what name they are working under. Also the social security number they are using, if known.
  4. May we contact you? If so, what is your name and phone number? (Your identity will be kept confidential)
